To enable affordable service the current fee for a consultation is $200. Please let Sarah know at the time of booking if you are experiencing financial hardship. The fee of $180 is significantly below the Australian Psychological Society recommended fee for 50 minutes of $318.
Payment needs to be made prior to or on the day of the service.
You can elect to pay privately without the need for a referral.
Alternatively, you can contact your private health fund prior to the appointment to determine whether you are eligible to claim a rebate.
Medicare rebates are available to those who have an eligible mental health care plan.
To see Sarah and claim Medicare rebates, make a long appointment with a GP or see a Psychiatrist. They will make an assessment about your eligibility and may refer for psychological treatment under a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and related referral.
Eligible clients with a MHTP and a referral are entitled to claim Medicare rebates as follows:
- up to 10 individual Psychology sessions claimable per calendar year.
- Upfront Standard Consultation Cost (50 mins): $200.00
- Medicare Rebate: $144 (approximately)
At the end of the appointment, Sarah will organise the required payment and will provide the Medicare rebate through her practice software system. Bank account details that are linked to Medicare are required, to enable Sarah to organise the rebate for you. Alternatively, a receipt can be emailed to you to claim through medicare.
